So, while at work yesterday,  I was notified by a friend of mine that while visiting the popular website Postsecret.com, that she thinks she saw a photo of mine..

Turns out she was RIGHT! Someone had sent in a postcard of one of my photos..

Not sure what is going on here, or whether to be furious or flattered, I am kindly requesting that Postsecret remove my photo. It is after all a copyrighted image that I have not granted anyone permission to print or post.

Just when I thought I’d seen it all…

Shame on them. I can see why they took it though. Just saying.

Have a terrific day. Big hug. :)

I like how the address is on it also…

Yeah.. still a bit surprised by it.. Whoever it was purposely cropped out the copyright that was located on the bottom left-hand side.. I really don’t want to have to place obnoxiously large copyrights over the whole image of all photos I upload, but am now giving that consideration.

Hey Erica, yeah, it looks nice, but then Bryans 60″ TV would look nice in my house too.. Doesn’t mean I’m going to go steal it and use it for myself.. Same thing..

That is infuriating! I am so sorry to see someone do this with your photography – it is so obviously personal when viewing it.

People can be so clueless and disrespectful.

Grr.

Well Hi Leanne! Yes, is frustrating and quite disrespectful.. And all that publicity without any publicity..

Do you think someone has stolen the image and is actually making money from selling postcards?

Ryan October 1, 2009 at 11:15 am

Hey Claire! That’s exactly what i’m trying to figure out.. If someone printed the photo on their own computer and mailed it in, it is still wrong, but would certainly bother me a lot less than if a publishing house is printing postcards and selling them..

Hey Ryan, Not sure how I would take that removing the copyright, but I did notice the postmark is out of Minneapolis, MN; so it was someone from over that that did it, hope it wasn’t mass produced.. if so I would say track it down and get some cash :)

Hey Kevin, I SWEAR I responded to this on Friday..

Really hoping someone somewhere isn’t producing this..
