One thing that I’ve noticed along with the increase in traffic my humble little bog here has generated lately, is the amount of comment spam. And so far, thanks to the Akismet plugin, none of the spam has gotten through.. And you should SEE the ridiculous comments spammers try to get through.. Viagra spam, Stock spam, and all the “Junk Mail” I’m sure you find in your email Inbox every morning.
Originally designed as a WordPress plugin, it has been adapted for use with many other platforms and should definitely be considered to help control spam on your blog.

It’s a fantastic plugin. I can’t believe the amount of spam it catches.
Actually since I’ve taken a lot of blocks off my domain, this is the first time in years that I’ve gotten spam. Some days the amount makes me feel special. Haha.
