Well, it’s Christmas day (actually now very early the morning after christmas day) and I made it to the Rogue today.. Was very strange to be flyfishing on Christmas, but was a very welcome distraction..

The water was a bit nippy, at a very chilly 33 degrees, and besides a couple of kayakers, had the river to myself and was able to relax and rip a few streamers. Although I didn’t land a trout, or even have a strike, it was great to just be out in the river, fly rod in hand..

I haven’t flyfished for several months, and although quite cold, it reminded me how much I enjoy it.
