Thursday 13… Did You Know..

Most of you who frequent the site here, already know that I am pretty much the biggest dork ever… Here are 13 things that maybe you didn’t know about me:

  • One evening in Kenya, Africa, I was mistaken for a “local” while sitting on a bench in Nairobi (I tan well). We made small talk.. He was shocked after lifting my hat to see I was an American.. Jambo! Habari Gani !!!! :]
  • Most everything here on my blog is first penned in a notebook (yes, literally ink and paper).. I then type it out after I finish writing it.. I know.. I’m strange. I do this with a lot of emails as well.. I have no idea why.
  • The first time I jumped out of an airplane, I had a parachute malfunction… I also enjoy rock climbing, scuba, and pretty much anything that involves a certain element of danger..
  • I currently have 0 tattoos.. For now anyway…
  • I drive a Jeep..
  • My dream job would to shoot for National Geographic..
  • I totaled my motorcycle while wearing shorts, a t-shirt, and sandals. I was returning from a store where I had just purchased a T-shirt that read “To Be Old And Wise, You Must First Be Young And Stupid.” I walked away with only very minor scrapes after sliding across the cement for 50+ feet.. Yikes!!
  • I coached gymnastics in high school.
  • I prefer a good wine to beer. Pinot Noir (which I’m having a glass of right now), and Merlot are my favorites…
  • I am not left handed..
  • Last year I was arrested, cuffed, searched, and thrown into the back of a cop car because of a “computer error”… I was promptly released after the cop sorted it out…
  • I am truly a giant dork..

Ok, thats only 12.. for the 13th, tell me something unusual about YOU…

Stumble it!

  • Ryan // Jan 18, 2007 at 12:55 am

Ha ha… My ADD is definitely diagnosed!!!! :]

And thank you about my blog.. It’s slowly getting there. Still a bit new to the whole blogging thing as I’ve only been at it for like a month..

Ha!!! Yup, sure was… Kinda wasn’t cool either…

Funny. I haven’t really “talked” to you in nearly 12 years, but I still knew half of those things :) (oh, and I think you only listed 10, unless I counted wrong) Something unusual about me….I had Meningismus twice within a year, almost to the day. (it is similar to meningitis)

Interesting list! Did the cop at least apologize to you? Something unusual… I like to hug trees. :-)
My TT has 13 words to describe me.

Ha… yes Lisa, I must have bumped something and erase a couple of them.. :] All fixed..

Very cool list! :) Ummm.. I dunno what’s unusual about me - maybe that there’s pus coming from one of my eyes. Gross, I know. Recovering from pink eye (conjuctivitis) at the moment.

That’s a great list. Not sure why you think your a dork though. You sound like an interesting and well rounded person. Something interesting about me: I have one tatoo that I got at Las Vegas Tatoo while I was on a business trip (very Klassy).

Great list! You have certainly had some interesting experiences! A parachute malfunction? Yikes! My first jump was tandem with a very experienced instructor strapped to my back, so thankfully I didn’t have to worry about that sort of thing. I have no tattoos yet either, but might get one after running my second marathon in April (if the race goes well.)

    Happy T13. :)

Great list Ryan…doesn’t sound at all like you are a huge dork but rather that you are alive…something interesting about me: I got a tattoo on my foot while studying in Ireland, I had headphones on so I couldn’t hear the awful noise the needle makes and the song “Blackbird” was playing…to this day whenever I hear that song I can still feel the adrenaline rush and I am completely brought back to that time in Ireland…I love it!!

Very good list, I am glad you have joined in on this and WW, i hope you are enjoying it?
I am so jealous that you have been to Kenya! its on my ever growing list! I would love to work for National Geographic, if only i had finished my ecology degree, but i think i was destined to become a counsellor!
And you were indded a dork for wearing sandals on a motor bike!naughty!

  • Claire // Jan 18, 2007 at 8:20 pm

indeed! i think i may need to write my comments out first like you, to avoid typos!

  • Ryan // Jan 18, 2007 at 11:06 pm

    Hey Susie!!

Yes, I cannot bowl, this I do know… I think i have actually bowled 2 times in the last 6 or 7 years…

Great to hear from you. Don’t be a stranger!!!

  • Ryan // Jan 18, 2007 at 11:08 pm

Hi Claire. I know. Stupid me to think I am so invincible… Yes, wouldn’t it be great to shoot for NG?? Gosh I’d love that.

Oh, and Africa. Yes, do get there. Trip of a lifetime..

  • Krissy // Jan 19, 2007 at 9:48 am

Great list Ryan! You’re hilarious. What a lot of people don’t know about ME is that I’m an extreme klutz. It made me a very unsuccessful waitress!

  • Milan-zzz // Jan 20, 2007 at 9:47 am

Well when I’m bored (especially on Spanish conversation classes but in general as wall) I’m defending opinions which are not mine, which I don’t agree with only to provoke discussion. So I’m giving arguments and falling into the fire and when the class is over I just say that I actually agree with my mates. Interesting thing is when they are starting to reconsider their opinions thanks to the arguments I gave them … I guess I’m good :) (no, I’m not lawyer)

    Great TT!
    Cheers!
