Tonight my buddy Kevin and I got out on the river - the Rogue River up in Rockford. For the first time in a very long time, I managed to outfish Kevin, and landed a nice steelhead - on my fly rod! For those that are curious, Steelhead in Michigan are essentially a rainbow trout that has gone to Lake Michigan for 1-4 years, then they return to the smaller rivers to spawn.

Wow, that’s a nice fish! Looks like you’re doing well! I’m jealous, I’d love to go do some fishing. I just haven’t been fishing like ever. LOL

Nice catch Ryan! It looks just like the one we have mounted in our front hall. Catching yours on a flie I am sure was much more fun, great going! Hope you catch many more! On the morrow we are going out netting herring to use as bait for the stripers coming into the rivers soon. Fun, Fun, Fun! Enjoy my friend!
