Alright everyone.. This has seriously been bothering me for quite a while.. I love music. I really do. All kinds of music. With that said, nothing is more ridiculous, intrusive, and just plain annoying than to click on a link to a website or blog and have some random, and usually make-your-ears-bleed aweful music start blaring at you.. Come on, is this really necessary?? To make matters worse, it always seems to play at about 67 decibels louder than whatever is was you were previously listening to..
If I wanted to listen to music I would throw in a CD, fire up my iPod, or visit a site like Pandora or Last.fm all on my own. Believe it or not, I am fully capable of this.. If I wanted to listen to YOUR music, I would invite myself over…
If you insist on having some sort of music player on your site or blog, PLEASE, I beg you, change the default setting to “pause” so that I can see it, and CHOSE whether to listen to it or not..
Enough is enough. This horrible trend honestly needs to stop..

I’m with you. I hate it. Usually if I get to the site and get
1. auto starting music or
2. flash ads that make funny little sounds

I agree, i wouldnt leave though just turn my mic off and then when i go to play music wonder why i cant hear anything!

Wow, the music setting. I hate it too. I keep the volume off on my laptop just in case a site has music playing I don’t like. Good Rant Ryan
