Me: “Hey Kev, where you fishing at?”
Kevin: “I’m at Edgerton”. (one of my favorite spots along the Rogue River)
Me: “Awe man.. You just had to send that picture, didn’t you. You Suck! Wish I could be out there!”
Kevin: “Yeah, it’s gorgeous out here. Sunny, not too windy”
Me: “Gosh! I really hate you right now. Catch anything?”
Kevin: “Yup, caught two little ………… bump, bump, static……”
I just kinda sat there dumbfounded.. then said aloud “holy crap.. he just dropped his phone in the drink!!!” And then I must admit I laughed at the thought of him, in the middle of the river, madly reaching into the freezing cold water trying to save his phone before it was swept away by the current.
Sure enough - my normally rather bright friend had a slight err in judgment and decided to answer his phone in the middle of the river (something I’ve admittedly done many many times), and accidentally dropped it into the river..
And true to his form, as any good friend would, he blames me for it!! Yup, its my fault he dropped it in, since I was the one who called him… :]

Haha! that’s great. I think I have had a few near misses myself at the river, but with camera equipment. That’s why I think I’ve been pretty adamant on getting waterproof gear. although I did find out that one of my bags is pretty waterproof.
btw Ryan, I’ve got free for all friday open at my site today, anyone can make a post on my blog. Just spreading the word, you should make a post! If nothing else, just a post saying you’ve invaded my blog. lol

Yep, it is the one and only phone fisher! Pretty stupid thing to do I must admit, but hey, one has to stay in touch when they are supposed to be working and our fishing instead 
To finish this story, I did grab the phone after it sank about a foot and ripped the battery out of it right away! I let the phone dry overnight and in the morning popped the battery in and the phone works like nothing ever happened to it! LOL!!
I still blame it on Ryan… you don’t call a man when you know he is standing waist deep in a river catching brown trout!

Off topic - was that a typo a minute ago? Did you mean 85lbs or 185? That’s a huge lab if you meant 185, holy crow! I answered you in the comments - maybe you’ll feel sorry for me and pitch in for dog food? (Claire’s already got poop duty!)
