That is a very interesting face, not scary at all. i would love to be able to sketch him.
What type of musical instrument is that? what did it sound like?
Claire and Chris - He was playing some sort of make-shift instrument. It had the body almost of a guitar, and was played with a bow almost like a violin.
The sound was not beautiful.. :0]
He had a small basket sitting next to him with with to collect money from passers-by.
Yes, it’s different, but it’s cool anyway. This guy looks really old. Probably been out in the sun all his life. I just love your black and white photographs. Happy WW ♥
I think black and white is a great vehicle for potraits somehow it gives more feeling and has a whimsical quality about it. Gives the character a mystery that colour doesn’t allow. Lovely shot
I see that picture and I see a world of experience. Look how old that man is and I wonder of what he has gone through in his life. I am sure that it is all normal for him, but would rock my world.

Yes, I know, something a little different from me.. :]
Taken in Jordan, slide film, Nikon F70, exposure unrecorded, scanned and converted to B&W via Photoshop.

He’s interesting but scary…Lawrence, he’s not!!! I decided to opt out of the larger image, thanks.
Seriously, great shot. Reminds me of Jimmy Durante!

Wow. It’s not often that a photo of a complete stranger makes you stop and wonder who he is and what he’s about. Nice capture!

If only you had recorded it, maybe you should make your own instrument and reenact it.
