Chris, unfortunately, no pretty assistant on this one! :] It was windy, I set up, waited patiently with me finger on the shutter, but in the end, hooked up a shutter release cable, layed on my belly to the right of the dandelion, and blew as I held the shutter with my camera in burst mode. I figured 5 frames a second I would hopefully get a usable one. :]
Hey Claire, and thank you. I wish i had more news I could give you about the upcoming project, but as of right now, its not 100% set in stone. It isn’t a really glamorous deal (not like a big magazine cover shoot or anything) but will be a several month full time thing. What I can say is that it will involve portrait work for 600+ doctors.
Ha! No, not anywhere NEAR famous Beckie!! And for my own sanity, let’s keep it that way. :] I’m flattered you use my screensaver. It really is thrilling when someone mentions that..
Hi Margaret, I can see it on a wall too, one of these days maybe I’ll have all three photos printed and matted like that. I wouldn’t mind putting this one up myself! :]
Beautiful picture. Love the idea about the frames too. There is so much beauty to simple things which we sometimes take for granted, like a weed for example.
Alison - why not? My daughter’s LOVE blowing the dandelions. In fact I usually join them. It is so much fun to watch them so happy and to see the pieces flying around (although, I can’t say I enjoy having dandelions all over my yard, but for now, whatever makes them happy!).
This is a beautiful series of pictures, Ryan. It’s lovely to see these because Beth has been discovering the (somewhat limited) excitement of blowing the seeds off dandelions.
Is the frame a cool image mock-up or have you actually mounted them like that?

That is so cool & definitely getting a Stumble. Was the wind natural, or did you have a beautiful assistant gently puffing at it?
